An eclectic playlist by Lino Melhado Filho.

Lino Filho had an eclectic but refined taste. In music, his preferences were strongly influenced by the 80s and 90s. In films and series, he preferred science fiction, deep themes about the human soul, ancient history, mysteries and conspiracies.

Alice in Chains: Lino's favorite band.

An icon of Grunge in the 90s, and one of the heaviest, technically and musically refined bands. Layne Staley, the late vocalist, was considered by Lino the greatest rock vocalist of all time, for his vocal timbre and the natural distortion of his voice.

His favorite song was Would? from the Dirt album.

Alice in Chains. Lino's favorite band, Alice in Chains.

Lino was such a fan of the band and of Layne Staley that he modeled the vocalist in Biscuit with his own hands, as a tribute.

Legião Urbana: squeezing water from stone in Brazilian rock.

Without doubt, Legião Urbana was the band Lino listened to the most throughout his life. A simple but unique rock style, with deep lyrics that easily stick in the subconscious of the listener, showing how Renato Russo and company "squeezed water from stone," as Lino used to say, creating dozens of beautiful songs with almost always the same 4 or 5 chords. Lino considered Renato Russo the greatest vocalist and lyricist of all time.

His favorite song was Acrilic on Canvas from the album Dois.

Pink Floyd: the rock awakening for Lino.

One of the first bands to sharpen Lino's senses in his youth in the 1980s, also widely known for psychedelic rock. David Gilmour was considered by Lino the greatest guitarist of all time, for the way he imprinted his soul on solos that remain unique to this day.

His favorite song was Comfortably Numb from The Wall.

Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd, the band that introduced Lino to rock.

Voz da Verdade: one of Lino's last requests.

Lino discovered the song "Projeto no Deserto" by the Christian group Voz da Verdade in his final months of life. In his last days, he challenged his children: listen to this song and learn to play it. Lino positively influenced his children to each learn an instrument: Lino Neto plays guitar, Bruno Vinicius plays drums, Beatriz plays keyboard. Sadly there was no time during Lino's life to see his children performing that song, with which he identified deeply.

His favorite song was precisely Projeto no Deserto by Voz da Verdade.

Voz da Verdade. Voz da Verdade, Christian band Lino admired.
